The Rhondda Tunnel was the longest tunnels built in South Wales at over 2 miles long. Images of this tunnel are relatively scarce. The tunnel is single track, although there is an enlarged bay somewhere near the centre. It also appears to intercept old mineworkings. A section was braced with sleepers after abandonment (or maybe just a place to store them). The portals of the tunnel were backfilled and landscaped in the late 1970s. These interior images have been kindly provided by Morlock of Darkplaces.
